The following installation guide we take you through the installation of your new ALPHAREX HEADLIGHTS for your 12-15 Toyota Tacoma step by step.
NOTE: Some vehicle require the DRL harness installed for the headlight to function properly.

Step 1: DISCONNECTING THE NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
Whenever working on your vehicle always start by disconnecting the negative battery terminal.
Step 2: FRONT GRILLE REMOVAL
Remove the 2x10mm and 2 plastic retainers.
Once bolts and plastic retainers are removed, gently pull the grille outwards towards you to remove the grille.
Next, remove the plastic trims to gain access to the headlight bolts.
Fist, gently pull the trim piece outward to get it loose from the mounting.
Second, pull the trim piece straight towards you for the removal.
Once the front grille and the plastic trims are removed, please set aside for later reinstallation.
Step 3: GAIN ACCESS TO HEADLIGHT BOLTS
Remove 1X10mm screws from each side of the bumper and the wheelwell.
Lift the edges of the bumper to release and pull it outward carefully.
Use panel popper to remove (2) plastic retainers from the front bumper.
Loose and release the bumper until you have enough space to reach the bottom of the headlight’s bolt. Please follow the same steps for the other side of the bumper.
Step 4: REMOVE THE HEADLIGHT BOLTS
Use ratchet and extension to remove 1X10mm bolt from the bottom of the headlight.
Remove 2X10mm bolt from the top of the headlight.
Use panel popper to lift the headlight and release from the mounts.
Gently remove the headlight by pulling it outward towards you.
Please follow the same steps for the other side of the headlight.
Step 5: UNPLUG THE SOCKETS AND REMOVE THE HEADLIGHT
Unplug the headlight’s sockets to remove the headlight.
Please follow the same steps for the other side.
Step 6: TAP THE FUSE AND ROUTE THE DRL HARNESS
Start from the driver’s side. Prepare to connect the daytime running light harness with the red wire to the battery positive and the black wire to the battery negative or to the 10mm bolt of the fender grounding cable.
Next, route the fuse tap (grey) wiring through the vehicle’s firewall in order to reach driver’s under dash fuse box.
Open the fuse box under driver’s side dash and tap into the IGN (ignition) fuse.
Route the wire harness to the other side of the headlight.
Step 7: PLUG AND INSTALL THE HEADLIGHTS
Plug the wires into the new ALPHAREX headlights.
Attach the harness to the daytime running light connection on the back of the headlight.
Please repeat the same steps for the other side of the headlight.
Finish the installation by securing the headlights to the truck.
Reverse the headlight removal process to complete the installation.
Step 8: TEST THE HEADLIGHT FUNCTIONS
Test the functions of your ALPHAREX headlights to ensure everything works properly.
Step 9: ADJUST HEADLIGHT LEVEL
After headlights installation is complete.
You will next aim the headlight at about 25ft against a wall on a level surface.
Clockwise to lower the level
Counterclockwise to raise the level
Please follow the same procedure for the other headlight.
Step 10: COMPLETE INSTALLATION
Congratulations! you have completed the installation for ALPHAREX 12-15 Toyota Tacoma Headlights.
